The Camden Riversharks are hosting a season-long, game-worn, jersey auction, presented by the Garden State Federal Credit Union. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Cramer Hill Little League. During all Saturday home games, Riversharks players will wear alternate jerseys that feature light blue lettering, a special Riversharks logo, and customized patches honoring the Cramer Hill Little League and Garden State Federal Credit Union.
The Camden Riversharks jersey auction, presented by the Garden State Federal Credit Union, will run online through Wednesday September 9th 2009. Auction winners will be invited to the Riversharks' final home game of the season, September 16th 2009, where they will have the opportunity to meet the team's players, and have their jerseys autographed.
“This is a win-win situation for all parties involved,” said Nate Parkyn, Corporate Partnerships Manager for the Riversharks. “The fans get to take home a great souvenir, the Cramer Hill Little League gets funding to use for its athletic programs, and the Riversharks and Garden State FCU get to do something great for the community,” he added.
Paul Ladd, of the Garden State Federal Credit Union, also commented on the opportunity to sponsor the jersey auction. “After doing research on several different charities in the area we decided to support the Cramer Hill Little League. It is my belief that every child who wants to participate in a sport like baseball should be given an opportunity. As the children grow and play baseball they will learn how teamwork builds trust, confidence, leaderships skills, and how to work with others. Besides just having something to do and having fun doing it is the best reward of all,” he stated.
