Sharks End Half On Winning Note
Camden out pitched Southern Maryland to take a 2-1 victory.
The Blue Crabs were limited to just four hits in the final game of the first half Sunday night. Brad Knox pitched six and two thirds innings allowing one run on four hits and three walks while striking out six on his way to his third win of the season Derrick Loop and Tracy Thorpe combined for two and two thirds innings of perfect relief, Thorpe recording his sixth save of the year.

Offensively, the Sharks struck first. Richie Robnett doubled with two down in the second inning to score Brett Bonvechio all the way from first base.

Southern Maryland tied the ball game in the fifth inning. After a wild pitch allowed the runners to advance, Richard Giannotti hit into an RBI groundout scoring Travis Garcia from third base.

The Riversharks regained the lead immediately in the top of the sixth. Brian Burgamy doubled in Teuris Olivares to put Camden up 2-1.

Camden finished the first half in second place at 39-31, just two games behind the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs.

The second half will begin Thursday night at Campbell’s Field for the Riversharks after the three day All-Star Break. Game time is set for 7:05 PM Thursday for Irish Heritage night at the ballpark. Tickets are still available, just visit www.riversharks.com or call us at 1-866-SHARKS-9.
