Camden Drops Lead to Southern Maryland in Final Innings
Despite the ‘Sharks best efforts to stay ahead in the final innings, Southern Maryland defeated the Riversharks with a final margin of 6-5. Jason Waddell took the win while Timothy Bittner was charged with the loss.

Southern Maryland’s Jamar Hill doubled down the left field line and was driven in by Shaun Cumberland to score the first run of the game in the top of the second.

The Riversharks answered at the bottom of the inning to tie the game at 1. Center fielder Richie Robnett singled to get on base. He quickly moved around the bases, stealing second, advancing to third on Kyle Haines’ at bat and then crossing home plate on a Southern Maryland error at second.

The ‘Sharks put together another run in the next inning for the 2-1 lead. Teuris Olivares led off doubling down the left field line. The next two batters were out 4-3, allowing Olivares to advance and score.

The home team’s lead remained for several innings, until the Blue Crabs tacked on the go ahead runs in the fifth to make the score 3-2. Patrick Osborn singled through the 5.5 hole to score two runners.

The two clubs traded runs in the sixth and seventh. Brian Burgamy launched a home run over the center field wall. Robnett and Haines singled and were driven by a Shea Harris double, the second double in that spot for Camden today.

Southern Maryland rallied in the top of the seventh and had a similar inning with two run homer and a double RBI to bring in the deciding run to end the game with a 6-5 lead.
