Camden Riversharks CAMDEN 5 12 1
Bridgeport Bluefish BRIDGEPORT 4 7 1
Sharks Score Two Late, Win 5-4
On three hits, an error, a walk and a drop third strike the Riversharks come back to shock the Bridgeport Bluefish in the ninth.
Camden trailed 4-3 heading into the ninth inning with closer Jorge Julio coming into the game for the Bluefish. Julio entered the contest with a 0.86 ERA and no blown saves on the season. Richie Robnett led off the ninth hitting a liner in to left field. Steve Moss seemingly had a beat on the ball but at the last moment the ball fell right by his feet and went to the wall. Robnett reached second on the play. Raul Padron followed with a single before being pinch run for by Chris Walker. After Walker stole second Kyle Haines struck out bringing up Teuris Olivares. Olivares singled into centerfield scoring Robnett easily. Walker hustled around third racing the throw in from Adam Greenberg but was called out at the plate. The Riversharks were outraged and in came manager Von Hayes to argue. He was ejected moments later.

The inning continued with game now tied at 4-4. Olivares went to second on the throw to the plate, and with two down Estee Harris struck out but the ball got away from the catcher rolling all the way to the back stop. Harris reached first and Olivares advanced to third. Chris Malec already with two hits on the night came through one more time with a soft liner just inches above the reach of shortstop Brandon Chaves. Scoring was Olivares and the Riversharks led 5-4.

Tracy Thorpe threw a perfect ninth, earning his eighth save of the season. Tim Bittner was credited with the win as he finished off the eighth inning inducing a 4-6-3 double play with the bases loaded and only one out.

The Riversharks led the game early 3-1 after four innings when the umpires stopped play for what eventually was a one hour rain delay. The Camden starter, Ben Davis, would not return to the game when play resumed. William Vaughan relieved Davis for his first appearance as a Rivershark in 2010. He gave up back to back singles to begin the inning and then committed a throwing error on an attempted sacrifice bunt. The error led to two runs and the next batter hit a sacrifice fly putting the Bluefish up 4-3. Vaughan settled down after the error retiring nine batters in a row.

The ninth inning comeback kept the Riversharks from losing their sixth straight one run game. The Sharks are now 12-13 in games decided by a single run.

Camden has won two in a row and continue their series with Bluefish tomorrow night in Bridgeport at 6:05 PM. Listen to the game live on the internet by clicking on the listen live radio icon at www.riversharks.co
