Camden Takes Bridgeport Series 3-1
Garrett Guzman’s four RBI lead the way to a 5-3 Riversharks win over the Bluefish.
With two down and the bases loaded in the top of the third inning Garrett Guzman stepped to the plate. He laced a ball down the first base line past a diving Josh Phelps clearing the bases putting the Riversharks up 3-0. Kyle Haines, Chris Malec, and Brian Burgamy all scored on the play.

Guzman continued to power the offense doubling in the sixth scoring Brian Burgamy once more. Burgamy scored three times total in the game, coming around for a third time in the eighth on a Raul Padron double.

In his fourth start of the season, Eddy Camacho put forth his longest outing yet. He threw six innings allowing just one unearned run in the bottom of the fifth. Camacho walked Danny Putnam and then had him picked off stealing second; however, Malec dropped the throw from Camacho allowing Putnam to advance safely. Two ground outs later the Bluefish were on the scoreboard.

Bridgeport added two runs in the seventh inning off of reliever Tim Bittner. Luis Rodriguez tripled with one out and runners at first and second. Bittner stayed in the game to retire Tike Redman on soft grounder to second, keeping Rodriguez at third base. With two down Ryan McKeller was called out of the bullpen. No more runs came in as McKeller walked one and struck out another.

With the ‘Sharks up 5-3 Tracy Thorpe took the ball in the ninth for Camden. Thorpe sat down the ‘Fish in order for the third time in the series, recording his ninth save of the season (second of the weekend).

Camden is now 7-10 in the second half after taking three of four in Bridgeport. Next, the ‘Sharks head west to York to take on the Revolution in another four game series before coming back to Camden Friday night.
