Sharks Drop Second Straight in York York’s 19 hits helped the club improve its win streak to six games After beating up on Camden 13 to 8 on Monday, York followed the same path on Tuesday, topping the Riversharks 15 to 4 in front of 2, 862 fans at Sovereign Bank Stadium. The Revs go-to-guy was Erold Andrus, among others, who had a 5-RBI night and improved his total to 25 on the year.
Camden starter Josh Brey ran into trouble early in the 1st when Matt Ceriani threw high of Raul Padron, allowing York to take the early lead. In total, four runs crossed the plate, two of them unearned.
Trailing 4-0 after one, Camden lowered the deficit to three as a passed ball from John Pachot allowed Richie Robnett to score from third base.
The Revs went at it again against Brey in the second, punching in 3 more runs on Castro, Bladegroen and Pachot base knocks.
Brey was pulled after just 1.2 innings of work. He was followed by Kieran Mattison.
Corey Thurman, York’s starter, was having his way throughout the night. Thurman pitched seven strong innings and only allowed three runs – two of them homeruns by Garrett Guzman (8) and Kyle Haines (1 – 6th of his career).
After four innings, the Revs were up 10-2, and their best inning didn’t even occur yet. In the fifth, York sent nine batters to the plate, scoring five. Pachot and Chuck Jereloman poached an RBI-singles each, and then Erold Andrus nailed a bases clearing double.
John Muller did an exceptional job in the back end of the ‘pen. Muller finished the game, retiring the last 9 York batters he faced.
Thurman earned his eighth win of the season. Brey, as a result, was dealt his eight loss.
On Wednesday, Ben Davis goes up against Derrell McCall.
